Trauma Clinicians, LLC is co-owned by Danielle Hudak, MSW, LCSW-C and Jennifer Canby, MSW, LCSW-C, two clinical Social Workers specializing in the field of trauma.
It is our mission to provide specialized trauma services, trauma education and wellness training, coaching and consultation to professionals, community systems, and organizations.
Envisioning a community that has the means and resources to heal, fortify, and thrive before, during, and after traumatic events.
Our story began while working as Social Workers in Washington County, Maryland. During our dedicated service, we discovered it was challenging to locate specialized trauma resources because the need was incredibly vast and growing rapidly. Together we struggled with conceptualizing how two Social Workers could truly make a difference when our community was so deeply impacted by trauma. Recognizing this important need, we became extensively trained in the treatment of trauma and worked diligently to provide specialized trauma treatment, training, and education.
Armed with a trauma-informed approach to serving the community, we experienced first-hand how difficult it was to bear witness to and learn about the adverse life experiences of our clients. Through education and training on Secondary Traumatic Stress, Burnout, and Compassion Fatigue, with Dr. Eric Gentry, we learned that, "it is not a matter of if we will be impacted by our work, but rather when." In fact, this was the catalyst behind the development of the Helpers Armor Initiative and is a driving force in our passion to preserve our community's most valuable and vulnerable resource, our helping professionals!
When COVID-19 hit in 2019, we were all operating under a new set of rules on how to socialize, work, and live. COVID-19 caused isolation, physical and emotional exhaustion, and confusion. Professionals serving the public during this time faced difficult working conditions, threats to their own safety, and exposure to the suffering of others. The impact the Pandemic has had on all of us has been great - in fact, as a community, country, and world, we now have a shared traumatic experience. As a result, we know that our community has a great need for trauma education and training and we are prepared to fulfill that need!
Through trauma education and wellness training, coaching, and consultation services, we remain dedicated to our commitment to heal the community. To have the greatest impact, we have dedicated ourselves to establishing a network of resilient and Trauma-Informed professionals.
